Initially know as Wider Opportunities, Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET) involves children learning to play musical instruments (along with their supportive teachers and/or classroom assistants).
Wider opportunities programmes are embedded in over 85% of Sefton primary Schools. In 2016/17 over 4000 pupils are learning to play and instrument for the first time.
Following first access, primary schools offer pupils the opportunity to continue and progress in group lessons, supported by additional music making in Sefton bands and orchestra.
